Sometimes, you have the pleasure to do something really cool and unexpected. I had the priviledge recently, to go to Stevens Institute of Technology, and speak on the dynamics of bass frequency response. In other words, I got to talk to students in a digital music making class about how to make kick drums and bass instruments really thump. Besides that, I touched on mastering techniques, sampling techniques, and shared some background on my music industry related experiences. The director of the program, David Musial, whom also co-ordinates the Bob Moog Foundation, was present to conduct the Q&A.
It was very nice to come in and speak on a subject I can literally chew your ear off for hours about, lol. I enjoy doing things like this very much. Quite simply, things like these are simple pleasures in my life I give thanks to God for. I'm very happy and grateful to have spoken about this subject matter with students at such a reputable institution.
Until next time,
Sergio Michel
